Indoor football in Maryland is heading into its 6th season in 2012, featuring competition from over 250 teams across the state. Marylandyouthfootball.com will host the indoor league this year to maximize state competition and visibility. MDYF’s indoor model creates a uniform format for all MD indoor teams, from which teams will be invited to compete in an Indoor State Championship at the end of the season!
Indoor football was developed to give children the opportunity to play tackle football with their peers regardless of weight in a fun and safe environment. Our goal is to provide a place for children who only like to play football and a place for children who wanted to play a spring sport as well as football. The practice and game schedules are less intense then the fall season. Please keep in mind that the league has doubled every year and there are constant improvements. Operationally we are learning as we go so some patience and flexibility is needed.
Each team that participates in the Marylandyouthfootball.com indoor football league will participate in a 8 week season, and there will be 8 players per team on the field during the game. The league will run from Mid-March to Mid-June. All indoor games are one hour, with a running clock so there is no need to worry about game delays! Indoor football is a high intensity, hard hitting, and fast paced game so be ready for some great highlights!
