Grassroots and MDYF Partner!

Grassroots and MDYF Partner!

COLUMBIA, MD (February 22, 2011) – Maryland Youth Football (MDYF) is proud to announce their partnership with the New Grassroots Youth Football League (GYFL).

“The mission statements and overall objectives of the GYFL and Maryland Youth Football are so closely aligned that it just made sense for us to reach out to MDYF and try to partner in order to raise the level of football in the region and increase the opportunities for the student athletes that we care so deeply about.  MDYF has set such a high standard of excellence over the years and we consider it an honor to join forces with them.   They are innovative trailblazers who laid the foundation and charted a course for us to follow.  We respect what they have achieved so far with the pre-season jamborees, the Maryland State Championships, and the Spring Indoor Season.   We are the new kids on the block, but we believe we can accomplish so much more working together for the benefit of youth football than we can individually, so this partnership seems so natural to us.” Mike Anderson – President of the GYFL.
The Grassroots League was a huge success in its inaugural season of 2010; it provided a means for the area’s best pre-high school football talent to compete against one-another at great venues, ready themselves for the next level of football and to showcase their skills in front of the area’s best high school coaches. Feel free to add to this section.  The GYFL partners with youth organizations, commissioners, and coaches from programs all over the Baltimore Washington Metropolitan Area to accomplish their goals.
“By combining both companies’ pool of resources, Maryland football participants will continue to benefit from year-round football services, with improved communication and more outlets to compete. We are excited to utilize the GYFL network of retired NFL athletes to improve our events and to growth both companies reach through open dialogue and planning.” Brandon Dunn—Director of Football, MDYF.
By joining forces, MDYF and The GYFL will help one another to achieve their individual goals and provide the best football services on and off the field for players.
